Ebel Offers a Broad Array of New Patio Furniture

A player in the patio furniture industry since 1988, Ebel Inc. offers aluminum and wicker patio furniture for residential and commercial use. Currently based in Jacksonville, Florida, Ebel's produces some of the best patio furniture available on the market today.

For this post we will focus on the new Ebel items, collections and furnishings available from Family Leisure in 2013. While we will not review every new collection that is now available, we will highlight the new additions that stand out through unique designs, innovative concepts or an exceptional seating experience.

The Cannes Chaise Lounge Is Quite Unique

Unlike the typical chaise lounge, the Cannes Chaise Lounge from Ebel (pictured right) offers enhanced seating function. Regular chaise lounges offer incredible versatility, granting visitors the opportunity to lie down or sit up, depending on their needs. Ebel took this comfortable function to another level with the Cannes Chaise.

What did Ebel do to improve an already great seating experience? The Cannes Chaise Lounge offers the typical adjustability found in a chaise, with the backrest that can raise or lower. But this model also offers an innovative leg-raise function (see left picture), so you can lift the lower half of this chaise lounge for leg support similar to a hospital bed.

But the innovation doesn't stop there. Most chaise lounges are not purchased individually, but in a group to line up next to a swimming pool or other body of water. With the idea that many people will require seating when a chaise lounge becomes appropriate, many manufacturers produce double chaise lounges for two people or couples.

Ebel takes this concept of a double chaise and updates it for the Cannes Chaise Lounge. Rather than offer a double chaise lounge, they feature a wicker strip to place between two chaise lounges that matches the wicker weave. This strip creates a small table for drinks and books between the chaise lounges. There's even a version of this table strip that comes with an umbrella hole.

The Carlisle Collection Captures Living Room Comfort & Outdoor Durability

If you're searching for something special when it comes to patio furniture, you must consider the Carlisle Collection from Ebel. This distinctive collection essentially captures living room comfort and looks, but in a package that can resist water and UV damage.

What's so special about the Carlisle Collection? It's upholstered patio furniture, a rare concept amongst high-end manufacturers. Each sofa, club chair, loveseat, ottoman, glider and recliner (yes, a recliner) showcases an upholstered fabric for that indoor living furniture look. This fabric is a special water barrier-backed "Rain" material made by Sunbrella designed for outdoor placement.

The Laurent Collection Copies Classic Theater Seat Comfort & Function

Clearly a copy of home theater seating, the Laurent Theater Collection (pictured left) showcases modular sections, indoor comfort and built-in function. Have you ever been to a home theater in the basement of a friend, client or coworker? Now you can bring this type of seating outdoors!

The Laurent Collection does not offer your typical outdoor sectional seating. Yes, the curved cushion piece can be combined with others (we suggest anywhere from two sectional pieces up to seven) like a typical sectional. But there's only one cushion piece in this collection, so there are a limited number of shapes and sizes.  

The main attraction of the Laurent Theater Collection is the functional armrest inserts and end sections that act like built-in side tables. Like in-home theater seats, these side tables offer convenient cup holders and storage.

Obviously Ebel designers created this sectional furniture to copy the function and comfort (six-inch cushions) of indoor theater seating.
