A Family Thanksgiving Like No Other

It’s that time of year again which some Americans love and others loathe. 18% of individuals state they find the holiday season very stressful, while a further 44% state it’s somewhat stressful. And it’s gen Xers who find the celebrations the most hard-hitting. But Thanksgiving is just around the corner and there’s no way to escape it. So, why not embrace the national holiday by cooking up a Thanksgiving storm and treating your family to an unforgettable time?

A satisfying meal - There's good news for families hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year as the average cost has slightly dropped, according to USA Today. A traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings for 10 people will cost $48.90 this year, which is 22 cents less than last year's meal. One of the best ways to get through the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving food preparation is for the entire family to pitch in. If you’re lucky enough to live in one of the warmer states, such as Florida, California or Texas, maximize your outdoor kitchen appliances and furniture in order to create the best meal possible. Not only will your outdoor grill island assist you with making a delicious meal, but it will be a stunning backdrop to your meal should you move your party outdoors.

Make the most of your time together - Thanksgiving is all about spending time with your loved ones. Each year, 43,400,000 Americans travel in order to see their friends and family. Therefore, it’s essential you make the most of your quality time together. Your games room is the ideal place for the whole family to retreat to after you’ve gobbled up your turkey dinner and pecan pie. A game of foosball or air hockey will be enjoyed by the young and old. Meanwhile, setting up a makeshift bar complete with bar stools and festive tipples will go down a treat. However, make sure you keep a close eye on how much is being consumed as no one wants a family fall out to happen at this time of year.

The busiest shopping period of the year - In recent years, Black Friday and Cyber Monday have meant that that annual Thanksgiving celebrations have gotten longer. Last Black Friday, shoppers spent $5 billion in just 24 hours on discount purchases, ranging from perfumes, furniture, clothing, and televisions. Electrical appliances for the home are typically heavily discounted throughout the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend. Therefore, heading out to the shops together as a family to treat yourselves to a new television is the ideal way to end the weekend. And, you’re sure to maximize your new TV with all the upcoming Christmas movies that will be shown in the next few weeks.

Rest up and relax - When the food has all gone, your extended family have left and night draws in, be sure to unwind as a family before the rush of Christmas sets in. A night in your hot tub is the perfect way to relax after the long Thanksgiving celebrations. Alternatively, enjoy a movie together in front of your roaring fireplace alongside some tasty snacks.

Thanksgiving is almost here. Therefore, be sure to make the most of this year’s celebrations and create a holiday to remember. By prepping a luxury meal together, enjoying some fun family games and relaxation, and indulging in some bargain buys, you’ll look back on this Thanksgiving with nothing but fond memories.
