Solar sun rings have the same effect as a solar cover without having to struggle with taking it on and off of the pool. Each solar ring is 5’ across (diameter) and allows the sun to penetrate through the solar material and heat the water as it floats on the surface. Equally important is what happens at night. The solar rings reduce the amount of evaporation by 75%, which is the main cause of heat loss in a swimming pool. It acts like a “stocking cap” for your pool. Each solar sun ring produces over 20,000 BTU’s of heat which can add up to 10+ degrees to the temperature of the water. The small and lightweight design of the solar rings adds to their ease of use and the internal magnets on the exterior help to keep the solar rings together. In the event that someone were to fall into the pool, the rings will separate from each other which makes for a much safer environment and peace of mind. It is recommended to cover approximately 75% of the water surface for the most effective and efficient heating. Also note that they work great in conjunction with an existing pool heating system, such as a gas pool heater or electric pool heater, which causes the heater not to have to work as hard and conserves energy.
